Project Description:

The applicant proposes to increase the approved mining depth within a previously-approved Life of Mine (LOM) such that mining will occur below groundwater elevation, to a maximum of 20 feet into the groundwater table. Additionally, the reclamation objective is proposed to change from a meadow with wildlife habitat to a 4.4-acre pond, 0.3 acres of access roads and 3.5 acres of sloped vegetated meadow. The associated hours of operation will not change from what is currently permitted. The project site is located on Perkins Lane off Laidlaw Road in the town of Farmersville. The Department is seeking public comment on the application prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.
