    LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Budget

    LEGAL NOTICE

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Budget Hearing of the residents of the Fillmore Central School District, in Fillmore, New York will be held in the auditorium at Fillmore Central School on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 5:30 pm daylight savings time for the presentation of the School Budget for the 2025-26 school year and for transaction of such other business as is authorized by Education Law.

    AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the vote on the 2025-26 Budget, three propositions, and the election of one member to the Board of Education will be held at the school building in Fillmore, New York between the hours of 12:00 noon and 8:00 pm, daylight savings time, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Shall the 25-26 budget be approved?

    AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for school purposes; exclusive of public moneys, may be obtained by any eligible voter in the District during the seven days immediately preceding the Annual Budget Meeting except Saturday, Sunday, and holidays at the Fillmore Central School during the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

    AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education can now be obtained in the Fillmore School District Office located at 104 West Main Street, Fillmore, NY. Petitions are now being accepted. The following vacancies are to be filled:

    Term of July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2030 (five years), name of last incumbent – Matthew Hopkins.

    Each petition shall be signed by at least twenty-five voters of the district, shall state the residence of each signer and state the name and residence of the candidate and shall describe the specific vacancy for which the candidate is nominated including at least the term of office and the name of the last incumbent.

    AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the District Clerk no later than April 21, 2025.

    AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the following proposition will be offered for adoption:

    PROPOSITION #1

    SHALL the resolution adopted by the Board of Education on April 22, 2025, expending from the existing capital reserve fund for purchase of (2) Blue Bird Buses, up to a maximum amount of $100,000.00, be approved?

    PROPOSITION #2

    SHALL the resolution adopted by the Board of Education on April 22, 2025, for purchase of (2) Blue Bird Buses, up to a maximum amount of $342,130.00, which said sum of $342,130.00, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by tax on the taxable property of the School District to be collected in annual installments, and to issue obligations of the District therefore in accordance with Education Law and Local Finance Law, be

    approved?

    PROPOSITION #3

    SHALL the Board of Education of the Fillmore Central School shall be authorized to levy taxes annually in the amount of one hundred twelve thousand three hundred eighty dollars ($112,380) and to pay said amount to the Wide-Awake Club Library. Be

    approved?

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: that applications for absentee ballots may be applied for at the Office of the School District Clerk. Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the School District Clerk by or prior to 5:00 p.m., (EDST) on May 13, 2025 if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter; or prior to 5:00 p.m. (EDST), May 19, 2025 if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots shall have been issued will be available for inspection in the Office of the School District Clerk on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the election (except Saturday and Sunday), and such list shall also be posted at the voting place during the election, and any qualified voter may challenge the acceptance of the absentee voter's ballot of any person on such list, by making his challenge and the reasons therefor known to the Inspector of Election before the close of the polls.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: that applications for military voter ballots may be applied for at the Office of the School District Clerk. Applications for military voter ballots must be received by the School District Clerk by or prior to 5:00 p.m., (EDST) on April 24, 2025. Eligible military voters may designate preference for receiving their application: by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail. If no designation is indicated, the military budget application will be transmitted by mail. A list of all persons to whom military voter ballots shall have been issued will be available for inspection in the Office of the School District Clerk on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the election (except Saturday and Sunday), and such list shall also be posted at the voting place during the election, and any qualified voter may challenge the acceptance of the military voter's ballot of any person on such list, by making his challenge and the reasons therefor known to the Inspector of Election before the close of the polls.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: that applications for an early mail ballot may be applied for at the Office of the School District Clerk. Applications for early mail ballots may be accepted

    beginning April 21, 2025 through May 14, 2025, to receive the ballot by regular mail and no later than May 19, 2025 to have the ballot delivered in person. A list of all persons to whom early mail ballots shall have been issued will be available for inspection in the Office of the School District Clerk on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the election (except Saturday and Sunday), and such list shall also be posted at the voting place during the election, and any qualified voter may challenge the acceptance of the military voter's ballot of any person on such list, by making his challenge and the reasons therefor known to the Inspector of Election before the close of the polls.
