Jeff Maybee (from left), Benjamin Russo, Noah Bartholomew, Jesse Hamed, Micah Jordan, Drew Langdon and Aiden Gregorio graduate from the City of Olean Fire Department Recruit Firefighter Training Class 2026-1 on Friday at Cutco Theater in Olean. The 14-week program prepared the seven graduates for entry-level firefighting careers, said Olean Fire Chief Eric Maurouard, and said the class was the largest held by the department to date. The bulk of graduates received station assignments in the Olean Fire Department, while Maybee was recruited to the Salamanca City Fire Department. Several of the graduates will now attend an emergency medical technician course with Southern Tier Health Care System.
