WILLIAMSVILLE — Rev. Michael O’Hara, of Williamsville, and formerly of Arcade, passed away Saturday (June 20, 2026) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, at the age of 90.

He was born March 3, 1936, in Oswego, and was the son of the late Leo and Agnes Fitzgibbons O’Hara.

He attended the Diocesan Preparatory Seminary and Our Lady of the Angels Seminary. He studied theology at the Propagation of the Faith Seminary in Rome.

Following his Ordination in Rome in 1960, Father O’Hara served as associate pastor at Nativity Church in Buffalo, Our Lady of Victory in Lackawanna and Our Lady of Pompeii in Lancaster. He was named associate pastor of St. Louis Church in Buffalo in 1971 and later served at St. Gabriel Church in Elma in 1976. In January 1979, he was appointed administrator of Sacred Heart Church in Friendship and Sacred Heart Church in Angelica. Later that year, he was appointed pastor of both parishes.

Rev. O’Hara faithfully served the people of the Diocese of Buffalo as a Catholic Priest for more than 65 years and most recently served at St. Philomena Church in Franklinville.

Through his amateur (ham) radio hobby, he met and befriended many people over the years. He also had a passion for photography and found great joy in capturing the beauty of everyday life and preserving treasured memories.

Rev. O’Hara is survived by his nephews, William and Michael Fisher; his nieces, Theresa (Kevin) Von Vreckin and Elizabeth (Chris) Fisher-Moses; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sean, Caitlin, Austin and Coraline.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary (Ted) Fisher; and his aunt, Theresa Fitzgibbons.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (June 25, 2026) at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday (June 26, 2026) at St. Philomena Church, 26 Plymouth Ave., Franklinville. A private burial will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore.
