Theresa Brol

ALLEGANY — Theresa Brol, 96, of Allegany, passed away peacefully Saturday (May 30, 2026) at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean, where she had recently been residing.

She was born in Olean on Nov. 13, 1929, to the late Stanley and Julia Gawranska Kolasinski. On Aug. 13, 1955, at the former Transfiguration Church in Olean, she married Walter Brol of Salamanca. He predeceased her Jan. 2, 2016.

Theresa worked at the former Nu-Way Grocery and Acme Markets. Later she was employed at the former Acme Electric Co. in Allegany and Cuba until her retirement.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, making afghans and going on bus trips. She also enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos. Most of all she loved taking care of her daughter’s dog, Lily.

Surviving are her daughter, Diana Beil of Olean; two sons, Michael (Debra) Brol of Ijamsville, Md. and Robert (Karen) Brol of Bristol, R.I.; six grandchildren, Heather (Amie) Peck of Hinsdale, Holly (Thomas) Braun of Leland, N.C., Zachary Brol and Dylan Brol, both of Bristol, Christopher (Carolyn) Brol of Mount Airy, Md. and Caitlin (Christopher) Dalvano of Downingtown, Pa.; and six great-grandchildren, Caden, Braden and Leesin Peck, Weston and Rowan Braun and Charlotte Brol.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by five brothers, Stanley, Lucas, Louis, John and Theodore Kolasinski; six sisters, Viola Bush, Sophie White, Mary Gunns, Betty Shick, Julia Gordon and Ann Putt; and a son-in-law, George Beil.

The family will be present to receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday (June 3, 2026) at St. Bonaventure Church, 95 E. Main St., Allegany. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. in the church. Fr. David Tourville, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
