RUSH — Suzanne Kopler, née Wolfer, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23, 2026, in her home.
She was born March 3, 1938, in Warsaw, a daughter of the late Duane Wolfer and Beulah Hotchkiss. On April 5, 1958, in Hume, she married John A. Kopler, who predeceased her Dec. 18, 2021
A former cafeteria aide for the Rush-Henrietta Central School District, Suzanne touched countless lives with her gentle presence and warm smile.
Suzanne cherished the pleasures found in everyday moments. She enjoyed puzzles that challenged her mind, lost herself in the pages of countless books, and found solace in sewing, a craft she loved though she had slowed from it in recent years.
Luncheons with friends were treasured occasions, filled with laughter and heartfelt conversations that illuminated her social grace and genuine affection for those around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Howard) Waid of Livingston, Texas; her brother-in-law, Pete Hinchey of Albion; and two half-brothers, Gary (Kathy) Wolfer and Dale (Lois) Wolfer; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins who held her dear.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Robert Wilson Kopler, in 2007; and her sisters, Marya Hinchey and Shirley Lilly.
Family and friends may gather from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday (June 4, 2026) at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, located at 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore. Burial will be in Rush Pine Hill Cemetery, Rush.
