FILLMORE — Wayne R. Roberts, of 60 Emerald St., Fillmore, left this earthly life to be welcomed by his Lord and Savior, to join loved ones in eternity, on Tuesday (Dec. 16, 2025) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, with his loving family at his side.

He was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Eagle, the son of the late Kenneth and Beulah Laird Roberts Sr. He married Florence Nevinger, who survives.

Wayne was a graduate of Fillmore Central High School.

After high school he was employed at the family business, Fillmore Farm Supply, after which he went on to work at Ricketts Farm Supply, then ultimately to a 25-plus year career as a service representative with New Holland Farm Equipment, Inc.

In retirement, among many other endeavors, he spent several years in the produce department at Tops market in Warsaw.

Wayne was a devoted family man, talented mechanic and avid gardener, giving away much of his harvest from his roadside trailer in Fillmore. Additionally, in the early years he was a Fillmore fire fighter, highway construction worker, logger and responsible outdoorsman.

Finally, Wayne was a man of strong, quiet faith in God who persevered through many trials and challenges during his life.

In addition to his wife, Florence of 67 years, he is survived by three sons;,Martin Roberts of Fillmore, Michael (Paula) Roberts of Exton, Pa. and Mark Roberts of Rochester; two daughters, Melinda (James) Stubley of Apex, N.C. and Molly (Jeffrey) Mahan of Oneonta; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Roberts of Castile; and a brother, Kenneth (Judy) Jr. of Port Saint Lucie, Fla. Additionally, Wayne was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, as well “Uncle Wayne” to many nieces and nephews. And last but not least, his walking partner pug dog, “Bella”.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Matthew Roberts; and a brother, David Roberts.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, with burial to immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fillmore. Pastor Paul Shea will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fillmore Power House Youth Center, P.O. Box 241, Fillmore, NY; and/or William P. Brooks Hose Co. Inc., 24 S. Genesee St., Fillmore, NY.
