T. Joseph Daley

T. Joseph Daley, Oct. 2, 1935 to Dec. 13, 2025.

PITTSFORD — Joe Daley died peacefully at home in Pittsford at the age of 90.

Born in Detroit, Mich., Joe grew up in Olean and graduated from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with an electrical engineering degree in 1957. He married Mary Ann Donnelly in 1960 and together they raised their four children in Fairport: Chuck, Kathleen, Marie and Anita.

Joe worked for General Dynamics in Rochester, with a two-year field assignment in Hof, Germany, where Chuck was born. He also worked at Harris Corporation for 20 years until he retired in 1990, where he worked with NASA and the Department of Defense in radio communications.

Joe loved sailing and enjoyed summers on Canandaigua Lake as the skipper of a 22-foot sailboat with a hearty crew — his family. He enjoyed downhill skiing and traveling the world with Ann.

In retirement, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity.

Joe is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann Daley; children, Charles (Joy) Daley of Portville, Kathleen (Peter) Macon of Brighton, Marie Daley of Fairport and Anita (Michael Shaffer) of Ann Arbor Mich.; as well as grandchildren, Emily, Sean, James, Jackie and Jessica; step-granddaughter, Nicole (Kevin McMaster) Macon; step-great-grandsons, Oliver and Cicero; sisters-in-law, Karen (Tom) Hanss, Susan Murphy and Jane Daley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours fwill be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2026, at Anthony Funeral Home, 2305 Monroe Ave., Rochester. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2026, at St. John of Rochester, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport. interment at White Haven will be at a later date.
