ELLICOTTVILLE — Sadly, Alan Stocker of Ellicottville passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, surrounded by family.

He was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Kenmore, son of the late Frank and Loretta Hirsch Stocker. He is survived by his wife, Hannelore Stocker.

He was an engineer for GM out of Lockport, Detroit and Germany for 40 years.

Alan was an active member of the Buffalo Maritime Center and Buffalo Rotary Club, a past member of Buffalo Launch Club, Buffalo Yacht Club, North Amherst Volunteer Fire Co. and Ellicottville Rotary Club. Alan was an avid boater, loved to travel and ski with his wife Hannelore and was a longtime member of Holimont. He loved what Ellicottville was about.

Besides his loving wife of 27 years, Alan is survived by daughters, Kim (Tom) Dean of Pennsylvania, Pam Bowman of East Amherst, Cindy (Robert) Burnett of Texas and Debbie (Greg) Honsberger of East Amherst; stepdaughter, Catrina (Bernie) Kopell of Calif.; Errol (Stephany) Honadle of Niagara Falls; Margaret Griffin of Hamburg; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Alan is predeceased by a brother, Norman Stocker; and a grandson, Ryan Dean.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Ellicottville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buffalo Maritime Club or the Buffalo Rotary Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., in Little Valley.
