Melinda A. ‘Lindy’ Rogan
CATTARAUGUS — Melinda A. “Lindy” Rogan, 75, of Cattaraugus passed away Saturday (Dec. 6, 2025) at her home.
She was born July 13, 1950, in Gowanda, daughter of the late Richard and Jane Fuss Klancer. On April 13, 1974, she married Dale Rogan, who survives.
For 26 years, Lindy taught Kindergarten at Cattaraugus Central School and Cattaraugus/Little Valley Central School.
If there is one simple adjective to describe Lindy, it would be “fabulous.” She was a fabulous human being, a fabulous daughter and fabulous sister to Brenda and Richard. She was also a fabulous mother to her children, Matthew and Heather. Lastly, she was a fabulous teacher to hundreds of children.
From her husband, Dale, “Lindy, I will always love you and remember you for the fabulous person you were. You made this world a better place. See you on the other side.”
Besides her devoted husband of 51 years, Lindy is survived by a son, Matthew Rogan of Cattaraugus; a daughter, Heather (Jeff) Griffin of Angola; a brother, Richard (Linda) Klancer of Gowanda; and a sister, Brenda (Dan) Curry of Bend, Ore. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Tyler, Kayleigh, Madison and Gabriella; as well as several dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 11, 2025) from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E. Main St. in Gowanda. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Dec. 12, 2025) from the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to any animal related charity or the Cattaraugus Free Library.
