Frank R. Fischer, loving husband, father & grandfather

OLEAN — Frank R. Fischer, of Route 16S, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 26, 2025) at his home.

Frank was born Nov. 18, 1942, in Geneva, the son of Frank and Sally Levy Fischer.  He married Joanne DeMart on Oct. 11, 1980, in Olean, who survives.

Frank worked as a pipe fitter for UA Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 22 for about 40 years until his retirement around 2005.

He also began antiquing in 1965 and continued through his retirement until his passing.

Along with his loving wife, Joanne, Frank is survived by two children, Sean B. (Kathi Herrmann) Fischer of Olean and Kasey Tripodi of Huston, Texas; a stepdaughter, Sonya C. Mitchell of Olean; four grandchildren, Sean Adam Fischer, Elizabeth Fischer, Amanda Merritt and Janell Wisda; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank was predeceased by his parents; a son, Frank G. Fischer on March 5, 2022; a brother, Rick Fischer; and a sister, Barbara Fischer.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 4, 2025) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., at which time a memorial service will be held. Chaplain Terry Bush will officiate, beginning with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 ritual team.
