Carol A. Wilson

PORTVILLE — Carol A. Wilson, 82, of Portville, passed away Thursday (Nov. 6, 2025) at Olean General Hospital.

Born April 26, 1943, in Olean, she was the daughter of Raymond and Teresa Mohr Wedlock. On Nov. 5, 1966, in Olean, she married Richard F. Wilson, who predeceased her Feb. 1, 2011.

Carol was a 1961 graduate of Olean High School.

From 1968 to 1998 she worked at Portville Central School.

She was an active member of the YMCA for years after her retirement and achieved an amazing 2700-mile mark by swimming laps in their pool. She also loved the beach and often with her husband would travel to Barcelona on Lake Erie to enjoy the shoreline.

She always loved her house pets, and her Yorkie-Poo “Abby Rose” was currently keeping her the best of company.

She leaves behind two sisters, Barbara (Ed) Burroughs of New Castle, Pa. and Mary (Rick) Manzone of Springville; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her amazing neighbors on Deer Creek Road who helped her maintain independence in her last years; as well as her “special angel,” Terri.

She was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Carol Wedlock.

The family will be present to receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. today (Nov. 12, 2025)  at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.  Services will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow next to her husband Richard in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
