Stanley Miller, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather
PORTVILLE — Stanley Miller, of Coon Hollow Road, passed away Monday (Nov. 3, 2025) at the home of his daughter, Janet (Larry) Shrauger.
Stanley was born March 28, 1929, in Black Springs, Ark., and was the son of Steward and Mary L. Alexander Miller. On Aug. 3, 1952, at the Olean First Baptist Church, he married Betty Jane Hardwood, who predeceased him Jan. 12, 2021.
Stanley was a 1947 graduate of Friendship Highschool. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during the occupation period, mostly in Austria, in the Adjective Generals Office from 1948 to 1950. Stanley then served in the Army Reserves.
He went to work at Dresser Clark in 1950 as a photographer, retiring in 1991.
Stanley enjoyed fishing, hunting and remote-control airplanes.
Stanley is survived by three children, twins Larry C. Miller of Richburg and Terry G. Miller of Olean, and Janet M. (Larry) Shrauger of Olean; four grandchildren, Chealsa Miller, Jessica Milk, Jeremy Shrauger and Aaron Shrauger; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Along with is loving wife, Betty, Stanley was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Barbara J. Miller on Aug. 2, 2019; and his sister, Lelia.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Friday (Nov. 7, 2025) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., at which time a funeral service will be held beginning with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 ritual team.
