The League of Women Voters of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties celebrated Monday, the day before Election Day, as National Election Hero Day, by delivering home-baked cookies to the boards of elections in Allegany and Cattaraugus counties. "The election heroes who work at the BOEs strive all year long to provide a reliable, safe and secure environment for citizens to exercise their right to vote at local, state and federal elections," said Margie McIntosh, president of LWV in the counties. "We greatly appreciate these dedicated neighbors, friends and family who are committed to doing this good work."
