Ruth Ann Kenyon, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother

FRANKLINVILLE — Ruth A. Kenyon, of Bryant Hill Road, formerly of Franklin Street, passed away Monday (Oct. 27, 2025) at Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness.

Ruth was born March 17, 1928, in Franklinville, and was the daughter of John Elmer and Margaret F. Feduski Patterson. On Nov. 15, 1947, in the Franklinville First Baptist Church, she married Lloyd E. Kenyon, who predeceased her Oct. 27, 2001.

Ruth worked at Stardell Products and then went to work at the Cattaraugus County Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide.

Ruth was formerly a member of St. Barnaba’s Episcopal Church. She was currently attending the United Church of Ellicottville.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan,  and enjoyed coloring, word searches, watching old TV programs, square and round dancing and was also on a Senior Citizens Bowling League, where she bowled until she was 95 at Ischua Valley.

Ruth is survived by four children, Joyce A. Valvo of Franklinville, Paul (Wende) Kenyon of Belmont, Phillip L. (Laurette) Kenyon of Alfred Station and Mark D. (Wanda) Kenyon of Caneadea; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two on the way; two sisters, Marjorie Voss of Fillmore and Frances Ponton of Olean; many nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Bailie and Kenzie.

Along with her loving husband, Lloyd, Ruth was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, John Patterson and Edward Nichols; two sisters, Marie Green and June VanBuskirk; and a son-in-law, Michael Valvo.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 30, 2025) at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville, at which time funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Green Cemetery.
