GREAT VALLEY — Joan M. Winship, 75, of Great Valley, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 14, 2025) at the Salamanca Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 17, 1950, in Olean, daughter of the late Robert and Esther Manning Watkins.
For many years she operated a hair salon out of her home in Great Valley. For years she attended the Eddyville Church and always enjoyed going to flea markets.
Ms. Winship is survived by three sons, Shawn (Cheryl) Winship of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Aaron (Tiffany) Winship of Palm Bay, Fla. and Benjamin Winship of Great Valley; as well as a son-in-law, James Baker of Grand Island. Also surviving is a brother, Robert (Virginia) Watkins of Ellicottville; a sister, Patricia Brown of Florida; and six grandchildren, Hunter, Brooke, Ara, AJ, Rayann and Amelia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Joan is predeceased by a son, Dean Winship; a daughter, Theresa Baker; and two sisters, Catherine Watkins and Marlene Davis.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
