Alice S. Geisel, loving mother, sister
FRIENDSHIP — Alice S. Geisel, 62, of 6871 County Road 20, Friendship, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, in the comfort of her home, after a short battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 5, 1963, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Douglas Weatehrell Sr. and Barbara Bartlett.
She was a graduate of Friendship Central School, Class of 1981.
She was a home health aide for her brother Steven in his final years, and their mother in her last years.
Alice loved all types of crafting including knitting, crocheting, papier-mache gnome homes and paper folding. She enjoyed taking care of her home, lawn and gardening. She was smart, caring, funny, creative and a true redhead (with spiciness to match).
She is survived by her son, Dejay (Lauren) Hughes of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Doug Weatherell Jr. of Friendship and Brian (Christine Gavett, OD) Weatherell of Hinsdale; three sisters, Lois (Larry Mack) Brandes of Great Valley, Karen (David) Cummings of Enterprise, Ala. and Janis Dailey of Friendship; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Steven D. Weatherell.
A memorial gathering/Celebration of Life will be held from noon until dusk Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Alice’s home in Friendship.
