FRANKLINVILLE — Harold A. Schwab Jr., of Bryant Hill Road, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.

Harold was born Jan. 17, 1941, in Buffalo, and was the son of Harold A. and Dorothy Fleischman Schwab Sr. On June 9, 1962, at St. Albert’s in North Tonawanda, he married Dauna Lasher, who predeceased him July 29, 2023.

Harold was a 1959 graduate of Bishop Fallon High school in Buffalo and continued his education at Erie Technical School Institute for engineering, where he earned his associate’s degree.

He worked for Chevrolet Foundry in Buffalo as a millwright under the UAW Local 1147 for 25 years. Harold and his wife owned D.L. Schwab Service doing HVAC work. He also worked at MRC Bearing in Jamestown and was a maintenance supervisor at St. Bonaventure University.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he held an office of Sgt. Of Arms 3rd degree.

Harold was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his hands; he built three houses throughout his lifetime. His mechanical knowledge was passed on to his children.

Harold is survived by three children, Cynthia A. Schwab of Tuson, Ariz., Harold A. Schwab III of Franklinville and Verity M. D. (Joshua Blatchley) Folan of Hamburg; and three grandchildren, T. Lydia (Mal), Ryan and Aidan.

Harold was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Dauna; and siblings, Mary Ann Delaney and Douglas Schwab.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 9, 2025) at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday (Oct. 10, 2025) at Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 22 Jefferson St., Ellicottville, where Father Charles Johnson will celebrate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
