A Lake Shore Paving crew lays pavement on West Henley Street at the intersection with South Union Street on Friday in Olean. The South Union Street corridor, in the midst of an approximately $4 million project, has recently been repaved by city efforts and the state Department of Transportation. The state agreed to pave part of the street — which serves as Route 16 -- allowing the city to shift funds to the East State Street reconstruction project which was paved earlier this year. Work on the project is scheduled to be substantially completed by the end of the month.
