RAGLEY, La. — Stephen Hill, 75, of Ragley, died Friday morning (Sept. 19, 2025) at the home of his daughter in Brocton, N.Y., following a short illness.

Born June 23, 1950, in Salamanca, N.Y., he was the son of the late James and Dolores Ambuske Hill. He was married May 30, 1970, to the former Deanna Bromley, who predeceased him in 2023.

Steve attended Salamanca High School and earned his GED. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany.

He had been employed with Delta Downs & Casino Race Track for over 15 years and had previously worked for Bush Industries as a machine operator.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and camping. He also was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Bradley) Burch of Brocton and Stacy (Robert) Fox of Franklinville, N.Y.; a son, Brian Hill of Ragley; 12 grandchildren, Heather (Alex LaFleur) Miller of Sulphur, Daniel Larson of Dickey, N.D., Dennis Fox, Nicole Fox, Alex Burch and Rebecca Burch, all of New York, Derek Fox and Kaylee Fox, both of Franklinville, Brian Hill Jr., Cordell Hill and Dominick Hill, all of Salamanca, and Kaiden Hill of Singer; seven great-grandchildren, Haleigh Miller, Karalyn Miller, Layla Miller, Gwenyth LaFleur of Aaric LaFleur, all of Sulphur, Colt Larson, Boe Larson and Brody Larson, all of Dickey; three sisters, Kathy (Harold) Spengler of Randolph, N.Y., Marcia Wass of Salamanca and Lorre Vassar of Salamanca; five brothers, Jack Hill, Kevin (Marcia) Hill, Ronald (Malesia) Hill, Denny Hill and Mark (Marcia) Hill, all of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Karen Kahm; and two brothers, Michael Hill and infant Daniel Hill.

There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life for both Stephen and Deanna will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday (Sept. 26, 2025) at the Holy Cross Athletic Club.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
