Lyle A. Wolfer
Lyle A. Wolfer
SANDUSKY — Lyle A. Wolfer, 84, of Sandusky, passed away at his home Wednesday (Sept. 17, 2025).
He was born Jan. 4, 1941, in Centerville, and was the son of the late Edwin and Hazel Leiderbach Wolfer.
Lyle never met a soul he couldn’t strike up a conversation with — and when he did, the stories could last for years. It was a gift he proudly passed down to his late son, Brian.
Over the years, Lyle held many professions and trades, but none brought him more pride than being a member of Local 17.
He was an avid outdoorsman and a devoted family man, making countless hunting and fishing memories alongside his dogs, grandchildren, and his best friends, Earl Moore and Greg Bougard.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Kathy Wolfer, whom he married Dec. 28, 2018; his grandchildren, Amie (Tim) Potter, Kody (Ashley) Wolfer and Kelsey (Kevin) Thayer; his great-grandchildren, Branch and Oakleigh Potter, and Nora Thayer; his daughter-in-law, Diane (Eric Moffit) Wolfer; as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Friends and family may call from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday (Sept. 19, 2025) at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. the following day, Saturday (Sept. 20, 2025) with Mr. Nate Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Sandusky Cemetery, Eagle St., Sandusky.
Memorials may be made in Lyle’s memory to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240.
