Robert L. Bean, loving father, grandfather and brother

ELDRED, Pa. — Robert L. Bean, of Route 446, passed away Wednesday (Sept. 10, 2025).

Bob was born Feb. 18, 1942, in Coudersport, and was the son of Warren C. and Josephine L. Pfeiffer Bean. On Feb. 14, 1992, in Black Creek, he married Dawn M. Babb, who predeceased him April 18, 2025.

Bob was a 1961 graduate of Otto Eldred.

He worked in the oil fields, for Freemans Drilling with his father, before going to work at ALCAS Cutco, where he retired in 2004 as a supervisor in Department 1.

After retiring, he started his own woodworking business, “Bob’s Projects,” where he made a variety of things for customers. His specialty was making picture frames.

Bob enjoyed model train railroads, NASCAR — he was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan, and he was a diehard Yankees fan.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Bruce Bean of South Carolina and Bryan Bean of Portville, N.Y.; a daughter, Michele L. Feile of Rixford; two stepdaughters, Wendy L. (Lyle) Adams of Black Creek and Jeannine D. (Shawn) Gray of Eldred; six grandchildren, Dakota (Emalee) Lee, Dylan (Andrew) Bradt, Mason (Summer) Adams, Taylor (Nate) Lee, Kera (Bucky) Hendershot and Macy (Tyler) Pellerino; four great- grandchildren, Jaden, Ryan, Addie and Maddox; six step-great-grandchildren, Ashlynn “Ducky”, Hailey, Ainsley “Miss A.”, Jaeda, Skylar and Tyler Jr.; two sisters, Jackie Rossman and Jolynne (Rob) Garthwaite; two brothers-in-law, Donald Smith of Florida and Leroy Murphy of Ohio; and his daughter, Suzan Murphy Hock of Weisthal, Germany.

Bob was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife; and four siblings, Warren C. Bean Jr., Bryan E. Bean, Joan Smith and Carolyn Murphy.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Otto Eldred Sports Boosters or to the Terrors Men’s Basketball at 143 RL Sweitzer Drive, Duke Center, PA 16729.
