Barbara Ann Common, Loving wife, sister, aunt and step-grandmother

OLEAN — Barbara Ann Common, of Olean, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 9, 2025) at Olean General Hospital, after a long illness, with loving family by her side.

Barb was born in Buffalo on June 20, 1952, the daughter of the late Richard J. Sr. and Clara Milgate Common. On May 21, 2006, in Allegany, she married Leo E. Reynolds Jr., who survives.

After graduating from high school, Barb worked for Cutco Cutlery for 29 years, from 1977 to 2006, as a knife assembler. She also helped start the Shear Team in the early 1990s. Barb was the secretary of USWA Local 5429 for three years.

She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Everyone loved her sense of humor. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan.

Barb is survived by her husband, Leo; her stepchildren, that she loved as her own, Amy (Joe) Reynolds Mattys, Leo E. (Christie Ouderkirk) Reynolds III and Tod M. (Quinn McAndrew) Reynolds; step-grandchildren, Aarika and Jolee Mattys, Christianna, Brandon (Mary) and Kolton Reynolds; and four great-step-grandchildren; her sister, Jane Morgan; a sister-in-law, Pamela Common; nieces Julie Morgan, Natalie Common and Kimberly Common; nephews, Jeff Morgan, Bobby Morgan, Grant Morgan, Joel Common and Justin Common; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a beloved friend of many years, Mary Lou Steward.

She was predeceased by her parents, Richard Sr. and Clara; her brother, Richard Common Jr.; and a step-grandson, Reikin Reynolds.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 17, 2025) at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, in the funeral home. Chaplain Terry Bush will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount View Cemetery, Olean.
