LITTLE VALLEY — Frank S. Kempisty Jr., 81, of Little Valley, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1943, in Buffalo, son of the late Frank and Loretta (Gioeli) Kempisty Sr. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a medic, in a total of 23 years of service.
He retired as a supervisor from the West Valley nuclear waste disposal facility, and before that, had worked at Bethlehem Steel for many years.
Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman and a fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. He enjoyed baseball and softball and umpired throughout the area in many different leagues. He was fond of his 1951 Mercury and loved to restore old cars and tractors. He was quite the storyteller and wasn’t one to shy away from conversation.
Frank is survived by two daughters, Cari (Steven) Hunter of Atlanta, Ga., and Brook (Chris) Goodrum of Charlotte, N.C., as well as his five grandchildren.
Memorial visitation will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley.
A memorial service with military honors will be held immediately following at 7:30 p.m. from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Liberty Park Cemetery.
