Richard L. McCormick
LITTLE VALLEY — Richard L. McCormick, 67, of Little Valley, passed away Saturday (Aug. 23, 2025) at Buffalo General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 13, 1958, in Jamestown, and married the former Sally Wick, who survives.
Rick worked different jobs throughout the area and lastly worked as maintenance at the Hooker-Fulton Building in Bradford, Pa.
Rick was well known for his large holiday display at home, especially for Halloween and Christmas. He loved all holidays. He also loved having his many dogs throughout the years, even one named “Gordon”, after his favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon.
He always enjoyed following sports but his true fandom was of the Buffalo Bills. He also was a part of bowling leagues in Salamanca, enjoyed fishing and watching western movies. He’ll be remembered for his joy of conversation, and enjoying his own sense of humor, hoping one of his jokes would land.
Besides his loving wife of 30 years, Mr. McCormick is survived by a son, Richard L. McCormick II of Humphrey; and a daughter, Beth (Scott) Swan of Humphrey. Also surviving are two brothers, Jeff (Margaret) McCormick of Humphrey and Allan McCormick of Bradford; as well as six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Rick is predeceased by a sister, Lisa Kemp.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 27, 2025) from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley.
Memorials may be made to the family.
