FRANKLINVILLE — Erma E. Hallock White, of Washburn Avenue, passed away Friday (Aug. 22, 2025).
Erma was born July 31, 1937, in Franklinville, and was the daughter of Clayton and Helena Snyder Hallock. On Sept. 20, 1958, in the First Baptist Church of Franklinville, she married James A. White, who survives.
Erma was a graduate of Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville. She worked at Ontario Knife Company for many years in Franklinville.
Erma was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Franklinville and the United Church of Ellicottville.
She loved square dancing, making clothes, doing crafts and other hobbies. Erma was an avid Yankees fan.
Her real passion was genealogy research for the Hallock, Snyder, White and Wallace families.
Erma is survived by her daughter, Debbie Ramsey; a son, Kevin (Mary) J. White; two grandsons, Kevin B. White and Nicky White; one granddaughter, Danielle Ramsey; and three great-grandchildren, Saphhire, Krystal and Tyler.
Erma was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Dale L. Hallock; and a sister, Arabelle McElheney.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. today (Aug. 26, 2025) at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N Main Street, Franklinville, and at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 27, 2025), at which time a funeral service will be held. Pastor Ralph Mueller of United Ellicottville Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville. Following the burial, a gathering will be held at United Church of Ellicottville, 51 Elizabeth St., Ellicottville.
