NORFOLK, Va. — Lewis Donald Ludden, a cherished son, brother, husband, stepfather, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully Monday (Aug. 18, 2025) in Norfolk, at the age of 59.

Born Sept. 26, 1965, in Olean, N.Y., to Donald and Rosemary Trieskey Ludden, Lewis lived a life full of love, adventure and dedication.

Lewis dedicated much of his professional life to serving others as a manager for a home health center. His work was a testament to his compassion and commitment to improving the lives of those around him. He approached each day with a positive attitude and a desire to make a difference.

Outside of work, Lewis had a passion for traveling and exploring new places. His adventures took him far and wide, enriching his life with diverse experiences and memories.
A creative spirit at heart, he found joy in making his own soap, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and the simple joys in life. You could always find him in the kitchen cooking away and having friends over to enjoy his meals he prepared with love.

Lewis’s legacy is deeply felt by his loving wife of 30 years, Julia (Trimm) Ludden, who stood by his side through life’s journey. He leaves behind his mother, Rosemary Trieskey Ludden; beloved stepchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron) Vernon, Stephen (Tonya) Hitchcock, Roy Hitchcock and Greg Hitchcock; three grandchildren and one great-grandson who brought immense joy to his life; his brothers, Tony (Lori) Ludden and Andrew (Tracy) Ludden; his sister, Lisa (Randy) Hall; and nephews and nieces, will forever hold dear the memories they shared with him.

Lewis is preceded in death by his father, Donald Ludden in 1992.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at The Hall in Allegany, N.Y.

As we remember Lewis, let us be inspired by his kindness, adventurous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His journey may have ended, but the impact of his life remains with us, guiding us to live with purpose and joy.
