Maxwell H. Ward, loving husband, father and brother
CUBA — Maxwell H. Ward, 45, of 24 Prospect St., Cuba, passed away Monday (Aug. 18, 2025) at Buffalo General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 6, 1979, in Olean, he was a son of Keith G. Ward and Susan J. Abramowicz Ward. On May 14, 2011, he married the love of his life, the former Rose E. Tittel, who survives.
Max was a graduate of Cuba-Rushford Central School, Class of 1997.
He worked for Fox’s Pizza Den, Dave’s Diner in Ceres, where he met Rose, and was last employed as a cook by Aramark at St. Bonaventure University.
He had a strong work ethic and was always hardworking, never wanting to take a day off. His wife and children were the center of his life. Being a husband and father was his greatest joy in life. He also loved spending time with friends and family at every opportunity he could. His smile was infectious and calm personality was unmatched.
When he was younger, he enjoyed playing baseball, sleepovers, going to the drive in and the many times he spent with his cousins and neighborhood friends. There was always enough friends and family around to field two teams of any sport.
Max and his family were parishioners of Obi Community Church.
He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan which was evident from his many jerseys and hats that he collected, loved to go golfing and enjoyed cooking.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose; two sons, Camden and Christopher Ward, both at home; his siblings, Ricci (John Brunner) Ward of Clarksville, Lacy (Adam Malone) Conley of Centerville, Gina (Jesse) Maltby of Delevan, Alicia McPhee of Olean and James Ward of Centerville; his grandmother, Darlene Mowers of Centerville; mother-in-law, Kimberly Nowak of Little Genesee; father-in-law Todd (Susan Hipworth) Tittel of West Henrietta; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; paternal grandparents, Harry and Beatrice Ward; and maternal grandparents, Richard and Marilyn Abramowicz.
The family welcomes friends for a memorial visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 28, 2025) at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba, at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. David Cook will officiate.
