ELLICOTTVILLE — Ruth L. Stiefler, 90, of Ellicottville, passed away Saturday (Aug. 16, 2025) after a long illness, at the Wyoming County Nursing Home in Warsaw.
She was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Holland, Mich,, daughter of the late Henry and Emma Wiersma. On Oct. 31, 1953, she married William Stiefler, who predeceased her June 30, 2006.
For many years, Mrs. Stiefler worked for the Ellicottville BOCES Center as a teacher’s aide and then would also work as a home and health aide throughout the Cattaraugus County area.
Mrs. Stiefler is survived by a son, Randall (Lynne) Stiefler of West Henrietta; and four daughters, Coralee (John) Keefe of Binghamton, Rosalie (David) Price of Thorold, Ontario, Canada, Cindy (Harry) Botts of Warsaw and Kathleen (Todd) Bullers of Olean; as well as eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and loving husband, Ruth is predeceased by several brothers and several sisters.
Private family services will currently be held, with a memorial service to be held at a later date. For further specifics, please contact the family for service details.
