Oilers fall 4-3 to Dansville, Lizards get blown out
DANSVILLE — The Olean Oilers lost to the Dansville Gliders on a walk-off single Wednesday night.
Ryan DeMartino had the hit that ended the game in the tenth inning to win 4-3. Josh Wilson was 2-5 with two RBIs to lead Olean’s lineup.
Starting pitcher Owen Smith lasted five innings with two earned runs and five hits allowed. He left Olean with a 3-2 lead, but the team couldn’t hold the lead as the Gliders scored a run in the seventh to tie the game.
Olean (13-10-3) is second in the NYCBL West, four games behind the Genesee Rapids.

HORNELL — The Steamers crushed Salamanca with a 15 hit performance.
After the game was tied 2-2, Hornell scored six straight runs. Salamanca’s Lucas Marsh was 2-4 while Parker Drees had the Lizards lone RBI. The Lizards will play Olean at 7 p.m. Thursday in Olean.
