Nurse practitioner Katlin Sikes joins Dr. Zia Sheikh practice in Olean
OLEAN — Olean General Hospital announced that nurse practitioner Katlin Sikes has joined its primary care team.
A board-certified family nurse practitioner, Sikes will work alongside Dr. Zia Sheikh to provide care for patients 18 and older.
Sikes brings extensive experience to her new role, having worked as a registered nurse for nearly a decade before earning her master’s degree in family nurse practitioner (FNP) from D’Youville University of Buffalo. She previously obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Delhi and her associate degree in nursing from Jamestown Community College.
As a primary care provider, Sikes is committed to comprehensive patient care, offering services such as wellness visits, preventative care, health screenings and chronic disease management. She treats a variety of conditions, including hypertension, high cholesterol, congestive heart failure (CHF), anxiety and diabetes.
“I was a registered nurse for almost 10 years before becoming licensed as a nurse practitioner,” Sikes said. “I am excited to continue my career path and take care of the community that helped raise me.”
Sikes emphasizes the importance of patient advocacy and personalized care. “I am dedicated to taking the time needed to listen and completely understand what issues patients are having. This allows me to advocate for them to receive the care and treatment necessary to help them get better.”
Sikes is accepting new patients at Lincoln Park Office Suites, 130 S. Union St., Suite 7. Appointments can be made by calling (716) 379-8113. For more information, visit brmc-ogh.org.
