ALLEGANY — The sixth annual Margaret Kenney Memorial Joint Euchre Tournament to Fight Diabetes will be held Sept. 20 at the Allegany American Legion beginning at noon. Registration starts at 11 a.m.

The tournament is held jointly by the Olean Portville Lions Club and Hamilton Court #2 Order of the Amaranth. The late Margaret Kenney was a highly decorated and long-serving member of the Lions and the Amaranth and spent a good part of her life raising money for those in need.

There is a $20 donation at the door on the day of the euchre tournament. Lunch and door prizes are provided to all players. There will also be raffles and a basket auction.

There is a limit of 80 players. Call Bruce Kenney, husband of the late Margaret, at (716) 560-5883, or Charles and Sharon Talbot at (716) 945-2122, to reserve a seat. They may also be contacted to donate a door prize, basket or cash donation.

Those unable to attend whom still wish to make donations can do so by making out a check to Amaranth Diabetes Foundation. All event proceeds will benefit diabetes research.
