Allegany 8-10 all-star baseball loses to Fillmore 11-6
CUBA — The 8-10 year old Allegany baseball all star team’s season came to end Thursday at the hands of Fillmore, a team that they previously won against.
Fillmore opened the game with four first inning runs to put the pressure on Allegany. It looked like Allegany might be okay after they scored two runs in the bottom of the first.
Brecken Wight had a leadoff single to begin the inning while Lucas Bleier and Nash Irons each added singles to help make the score 4-2.
Fillmore only added on to their lead in the second though, scoring three runs. They later took an 11-2 lead in the fourth.
Allegany was still fighting, as they answered the Fillmore runs with three in the bottom half of the inning. Drake Delong went 3-3 for the game, with one hit being a leadoff double and he scored when Sawyer Smith singled.
Uriah Kemp later hit a single and a walk and hit batter helped score two more runs to make it 11-5. Another run was added in the fifth but that was all for Allegany, as their season came to an end.
Fillmore 10, Salamanca 3

Salamanca got off to a good start when Morgan Earley and Karren Furlong each drew walks to put two runners on with no outs. The next three batters failed to get on base, but passed balls helped the runners score to make it 2-1 after the first.
