Genesee Valley celebrates Class of 2025 at 29th commencement

BELMONT — Genesee Valley Central School held its 29th commencement ceremony on Saturday. Families, friends, faculty and members of the community gathered to honor and celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025.

In her senior commencement address, Emily Brown thanked the Genesee Valley staff and faculty for the supportive community they created, recognizing the vital roles played by everyone from teachers and coaches to cafeteria workers and custodians.

She encouraged her fellow graduates, “I wish every single one of you success and happiness in every adventure you choose to pursue. We all have so much to offer to the world and we will all go on to do great things. I could not be more excited for this next chapter of our lives.”

In her senior address, Daphnie Gugino shared two important lessons from her time at Genesee Valley: to “be kind” and to “fail boldly.” She urged her classmates to choose empathy in every interaction and not to fear taking risks, saying, “Do not fear mistakes, fear standing still.”
