Dan Horn Pharmacy named a Founder’s Award recipient by HomeCare & Hospice
ALLEGANY — The Board of Directors of Community Care of Western New York will honor Dan Horn Pharmacy of Olean as one of its 2025 recipients of the prestigious Founder’s Award.
Dan Horn Pharmacy, along with Sinclair Pharmacy of Warsaw, will be recognized during the organization’s annual board luncheon in July, attended by members of the boards of HomeCare & Hospice, the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation and Total Senior Care.
Established in 1986, the Founder’s Award is the highest honor bestowed by the board and recognizes individuals or organizations who have upheld the ideals of home health care and hospice through significant contributions to the art of caring.
“This year’s honorees exemplify the heart and soul of our mission,” said Melissa Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of Community Care of Western New York. “They have gone above and beyond to ensure compassionate care, quick access to services, and genuine kindness for our patients, participants, and staff. They are not just community partners—they are care champions.”
Dan Horn Pharmacy, nominated by Roxanne Padlo of Total Senior Care, has long been a reliable and compassionate partner, delivering medications to the day center daily — even when closed — and offering after-hours service in true hometown fashion.
“Josh and the entire staff treat us like friends, not customers,” said Padlo. “They are person-centered in every way — from their quick response times to organizing last-minute vaccine clinics. Their involvement during the holidays and caregiver events have helped create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for many of our participants. We are so fortunate to have them in our community.”
Dan Horn Pharmacy has been a family-owned and operated business in Olean for over 25 years, specializing in prescriptions, compounding specialized medicines, durable medical equipment and post-mastectomy products. The pharmacy is located next to Olean Food Barn at 111 E. Green St.
Sinclair Pharmacy, nominated by Megan Morlock of HomeCare & Hospice, has been a lifeline for hospice patients in rural Wyoming County, especially those in comfort care homes like Suzanne’s and Charlotte House.
“They consistently ensure our patients have the medications they need with care and urgency,” said Morlock. “Jim and his team are truly a Godsend — they provide compound medications, respond without hesitation, and always go above and beyond for our patients.”
HomeCare & Hospice and Total Senior Care are nonprofit organizations committed to helping patients and participants maintain independence and quality of life in their own homes.
