Wellsville Police
- Friday, no time provided, Scot Marechaux, 71, of Belmont, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony. The charge stems from an incident reported during the “No Kings” protest June 14. Marechaux was transported to Allegany County Jail and held pending arraignment.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office
- MACHIAS — Megan E. Ford, no age or address provided, was arrested at 10:56 a.m. June 19 on a bench warrant issued out of Olean City Court. Ford was turned over to the Olean Police Department.
- YORKSHIRE — Kenneth H. Cornell, 40, of Springville, was arrested at 11:11 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant issued out of Arcade Town Court. Cornell was additionally charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor; inadequate muffler and inadequate lights, infractions. Cornell was turned over to the Arcade Police Department.
- FRANKLINVILLE — Levi T. Ward, 29, of Olean, was arrested at 7:03 p.m. Wednesday on felony bench warrants issued out of Cattaraugus County Court and Franklinville Town Court. Ward was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail and held pending further court proceedings.
- OLEAN — Michael V. Smalls, 48, of Olean, was arrested Thursday on a bench warrant issued out of Cattaraugus County Court. Smalls was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail and held pending further court proceedings.
- ALLEGANY — Michael C. Lathrop, 34, of Olean, was charged Thursday with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class A misdemeanors. The charges stem from a traffic stop on his bicycle, during which Lathrop was allegedly found to possess suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected Lortab, packaging material and unspecified drug paraphernalia. Lathrop was additionally arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Olean City Court. He was turned over to the Olean Police Department.
Allegany County Sheriff’s Office
- WEST CLARKSVILLE — Amber Chapman, 40, of West Clarksville, was charged Thursday with fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, all class E felonies. According to deputies, Chapman allegedly fraudulently received $1,078.10 in benefits by presenting false documents and information to the Allegany County Department of Social Services. Chapman was released with an appearance ticket.

- ALLEGANY — Henry C. Talbot, 70, of Salamanca, was charged at 5:15 p.m. Thursday with first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, class A misdemeanors. Talbot was released on his own recognizance.
- SOUTH VALLEY — James E. Baran, 50, of Jamestown, was charged at 12:13 a.m. Friday with third-degree criminal tampering and sixth-degree conspiracy, class B misdemeanors. The charges stem from an incident reported June 5. Baran was released with an appearance ticket.
