SPRINGVILLE — The PROS (Pioneer, Radio, Operators Society) ham radio group in Western New York is hosting a 2025 ARRL Field Days on Saturday and Sunday.

This is a 24-hour simulated emergency event where hams are allowed to set up in fields, parks, store parking lots and even at their own homes. The public is invited to stop by and check it out.

Test emergency messages are sent to local officials, and even the public can send a message to family as well. Local officials are encouraged to stop by to see what hams do to help in a real disaster.

The location this year is at 180 Elm St. in Springville. The Field Day starts at 2 p.m. Saturday and runs around the clock. A group of local hams will be in attendance to explain emergency setups.
