Older Adult Wellness Expo and Public Hearing July 10 in Wellsville
WELLSVILLE — Older adults, caregivers and community members are invited to attend the Older Adult Wellness Expo and Public Hearing 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 10 at the Wellsville Alfred State Campus Pioneer Union Center, 2530 River Road.
Hosted by Ardent Solutions, Inc. and the Allegany County Office for the Aging, this free event will feature wellness activities, health screenings and an opportunity to provide input on aging services in Allegany County. Attendees will learn about the Office for the Aging’s proposed aging services plan for the upcoming year and will have the chance to provide direct feedback regarding the needs and priorities of older adults in the county.
“Community members are encouraged to join us, discover more about available services, and contribute to shaping the future of aging in Allegany County,” said Jose Soto, Ardent Solutions’ systems transformation manager.
Doors will open at 10 a.m. with activities pausing at noon for lunch and the public hearing and will resume at 1 p.m. Jones Memorial Hospital will offer the health and wellness screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, bone density, pulmonary function testing and the Tanita Scale.
There will be live demonstrations by local fitness and wellness programs and information booths will showcase services and programs for older adults. Each time participants visit an information booth, they will be entered into raffles, Soto said.
