The PROS (Pioneer, Radio, Operators Society) ham radio group is hosting a 2025 ARRL Field Days on Saturday and Sunday at 180 Elm St., Springville.

This is a 24-hour simulated emergency event. Ham operators, or hams, are allowed to set up in fields, parks, store parking lots and even at their own homes. The public is invited to stop by and check it out.

Test emergency messages are sent to local officials and even the public can send a message to family as well. Local officials are encouraged to stop by to see what hams do in order to help in a real disaster.

The Field Day start at 2 p.m. Saturday and will run around the clock. There is even a group of local hams that will be in attendance to explain emergency setups.
