ToyotaLift Northeast wins Alfred State Golf Tournament
ALFRED — Thirty-three teams enjoyed gorgeous weather at the 11th annual Pioneers Drive for the Development Fund golf tournament at the Wellsville Country Club. The event presented by Mach Architecture raised more than $25,000 in cash and gifts in kind for Alfred State.
Brogan Cotter, a rising senior studying business administration and minoring in athletic coaching, was excited to participate in the tournament for the first time. “I’ve heard a lot of good things about this event in the past. Being a returning student and seeing 33 teams out here supporting current students and the student-athletes at Alfred State really means a lot to us. It’s really cool to see everybody invest into the school and invest into the current students.”
“We are just so thankful for our alumni and friends that come out to make this day so wonderful and our corporate sponsors who help provide a great support to the event,” commented Alfred State Director of Development and Corporate Relations Jason Sciotti.
The team representing ToyotaLift Northeast, Bill Maerlender, Dan Benson, Shane Gleason and Dan Sharp, shot a 59 to win the tournament. Team National Fuel, Bill Snyder, Mike Burnett, Brandon Fath and Dan Reed finished second (61) while the student team of Brogan Cotter, Mike Bupp, Ryan Masi and Hunter Trischler were third (61).
The top three teams took home $500, $300 and $200, respectively.
In addition, the tournament featured numerous silent auction items, over seventy door prizes, several skills prizes, and the day ended with a barbecue.
Proceeds from the event will help fund student scholarships, athletics, and other needs of the college.
The 2026 tournament returns to the Wellsville Country Club on June 12.
