The Olean Synergy softball program will be hosting its biggest tournament of the season this weekend.

Synergy’s 16U event is scheduled to take place this Friday-Sunday at Forness Park in Olean. The tournament will open on Friday with pool play games at 5, 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., continue Saturday (8 a.m.-nearly 9 p.m.) and conclude Sunday with single-elimination games beginning at 8 a.m. and the championship set for 3:30 p.m.

The 16U event will feature 24 teams, comprising its largest field to date. Aside from the immediate area, teams from Buffalo, Rochester, Elmira, Binghamton, Williamsport, Pa., Erie, Pa., and Canada are registered to participate.

This tournament is one of four that the Synergy program hosts each summer, alongside the combined 10U and 12U event, which was held last weekend, and the 8U and combined 14U and 18U tournaments, which are scheduled for July 12-13 and July 18-20, respectively.
