Alfred police investigate death of woman, 67
ALFRED — The Alfred Police Department reported Tuesday it is investigating the death of an individual discovered June 4, shortly after 2 p.m., at Maple Apartments on Glen Street.
Officers responded to the site following a report of suspicious activity, according to a statement by Alfred police. Upon arrival, responders located a deceased 67-year-old woman. The identity of the individual is being withheld at this time, police said.
“Preliminary findings indicate that there is no evidence of criminal activity involved in this case,” police stated, although the investigation remains open as officials await the results of an autopsy.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to the individual’s family and friends,” the Alfred Police Department stated, while reiterating, “we believe that there is no threat to the public in reference to this isolated incident.”
