Homicide charges in Saturday shooting in Bradford
BRADFORD, Pa. — District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reported early Sunday that Thomas James McElhattan of Rutherford Run Road has been charged with homicide in the shooting death of a Bradford woman at 59 Jefferson St. on Saturday afternoon.
Bradford City Police Chief Mike Ward and McKean County Chief Detective Ryan Yingling charge McElhattan with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
He was arraigned by District Judge Richard Luther and remanded to McKean County Jail. Criminal homicide, Shaffer reported, is a non-bailable offense. Central Court is scheduled Thursday.
City of Bradford and Bradford Township police were assisted in the investigation by McKean County detectives, district attorney and coroner; Pennsylvania State, Foster Township and Pitt-Bradford police; and Bradford City EMS.
