‘A History of Olean’s Public Schools’ set for June 16
OLEAN — The Olean Historical and Preservation Society will host a discussion, “A History of Olean’s Public Schools From 1880-1980,” by Michael Winicki at 6:30 p.m. at the Olean Point Museum, located behind the Bartlett House at 302 Laurens St.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair. The event will take place rain or shine.
The presentation will delve into the history of Olean’s many public schools from 1880 through 1980. Over that time period 23 different buildings within present day city limits have been identified as public school buildings.
The event is free and open to the public.
