In Cattaraugus County, Legal Assistance of Western New York (LawNY) is providing critical support to survivors of domestic violence. One recent case involves a woman facing severe threats from her husband, placing her safety at risk. LawNY is representing her in Family Court, aiming to secure her safety and stability.
LawNY is a nonprofit law firm offering free civil legal aid to low-income individuals across 14 counties in Western New York, including Cattaraugus. Their services encompass a range of issues such as housing, public benefits, and family law, with a particular focus on assisting survivors of domestic violence.
In this case, LawNY has also connected the client with Connecting Communities in Action, a local organization providing advocacy and additional assistance.
