‘History of Olean schools’ talk set for Monday
OLEAN — The Olean, NY – June 4, 2024 – The Olean Historical and Preservation Society is pleased to announce an upcoming talk, “A History of Olean’s Public Schools From 1880-1980” by Michael Winicki at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Olean Point Museum, located behind the Bartlett House, 302 Laurens St.
The presentation will delve into the history of Olean’s many public schools from 1880 through 1980. Over that time period 23 buildings have been identified as public school buildings, with fascinating and intertwined histories.
