Cattaraugus-Little Valley announces valedictorian, salutatorian

CATTARAUGUS — Cattaraugus-Little Valley Central School announces the top 10 students of the Class of 2025, including the valedictorian and salutatorian — some of the exceptional students who have demonstrated dedication, academic excellence and leadership throughout their school careers.
Zoe Whitmore, daughter of William Teeter and Jody Whitmore, has been named valedictorian.
Whitmore’s academic achievements are nothing short of extraordinary. Her transcript shines with an impressive array of Syracuse University Project Advance (SUPA) courses, including physics, economics, biology and U.S. History, demonstrating a profound commitment to rigorous collegiate-level studies across diverse disciplines.
Beyond SUPA, Whitmore further challenged herself with Jamestown Community College (JCC) pre-calculus, calculus and Spanish courses, showcasing her exceptional aptitude in mathematics and language.
Whitmore’s contributions extend far beyond the classroom. Her leadership and involvement in our school community have been exemplary. As a dedicated member of the Yearbook, Business Club and Language Club, she has enriched various aspects of student life.
Whitmore’s dedication to Natural Helpers highlights her compassionate nature, while her financial skills have greatly benefited our school in her role as Treasurer for both the Class of 2025 and the Student Council.
On the athletic fields, Whitmore has proven herself to be a true all-around athlete, participating in soccer, basketball and track. Her dedication and teamwork have been an inspiration to her teammates and coaches alike.
Looking ahead, Whitmore plans to attend Hilbert College where she will major in Criminal Justice. Cattaraugus-Little Valley officials express their confidence that she will continue to achieve great things and make a significant impact in her chosen field.
Alexander Crowell, son of Scott and Lynette Crowell, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2025. This well-deserved honor is a testament to his exceptional academic achievements and remarkable contributions to the school community.
Crowell’s intellectual curiosity shines through his rigorous course load, which included SUPA economics, SUPA physics and JCC pre-calculus, demonstrating his commitment to challenging himself across various disciplines.
Beyond his impressive academics, Crowell is a true leader and an active participant in many facets of school life. He has served as Vice President of the National Honor Society, Co-President of Natural Helpers and Vice President of the Class of 2025, consistently demonstrating his dedication to service and his peers.
Crowell’s talents extend to the arts, where he has been a valued member of both the band and chorus. On the athletic fields and courts, Alex has showcased his versatility and sportsmanship, participating in soccer, golf and basketball and even adding track to his senior year accomplishments.
When he’s not hitting the books or excelling in his extracurriculars, Crowell enjoys pursuing his passions for hiking and golfing and cherishing time spent with his friends.
Crowell will be attending Jamestown Community College in the fall and plans to pursue a career in urban planning. Cattaraugus-Little Valley officials said there’s no doubt he will continue to thrive and contribute positively to the world.

No. 4. – Makayla Zimmer is the daughter of Sabrina Henderson and Justin Zimmer. She plans to attend Geneseo for Mathematics.
No. 5. – Emma Gassman is the daughter of Brandon and Hillary Gassman. She plans to attend Fredonia for Social Work.
No. 6. – Amelia Wolf is the daughter of Andrew and Christy Wolf. She plans to attend Alfred University for Equine Business Management.
No. 7. – Bailey Cannon is the daughter of Matthew and JoEllen Cannon. She plans to attend Jamestown Community College for Nursing.
No. 8. – Brooklyn Orefice is the daughter of Nick and Amy Orefice. She plans to attend SUNY Fredonia for Theater.
No. 9. – Breanna Unruh is the daughter of Devin and Jessica Unruh. She plans to attend Alfred University and pursue a career as an equine veterinarian.
No. 10. – Hannah Dorman is the daughter of Beau and Joan Dorman. She plans to attend St. Bonaventure for Visual Arts.
