OLEAN — The annual Veggie Wheels Slow Ride & Walk returns June 7 at the SUNY Jamestown Community College Cattaraugus County Campus, 260 N. Union St.
The fun, family-friendly event invites participants of all ages to bike or walk in support of Veggie Wheels, an initiative sponsored by the Cattaraugus County Health Department and local volunteers, dedicated to improving access to healthy foods throughout the county by connecting local farmers with local consumers.
Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., with the ride and walk kicking off at 10 a.m.
Families are especially encouraged to join. Thanks to a donation from the Southern Tier Healthcare System, free bike helmets will be provided to all children participating in the event.
Donations are welcome — cash, check or online contributions will be accepted. All proceeds go directly to sustaining and growing the important work of Veggie Wheels in the community.
