Coming in for a landing

A male Baltimore oriole comes in for a landing at a feeder in Allegany photographer Dan Jordan’s yard. Dan says the oriole count is down a bit from the last two years, but he believes their colors seem more vibrant this year. Orioles spend the winter from northern South America and the Caribbean to Florida before returning to the Northeast and much of the Midwest and lower Canada in the spring.
