While the chance of rain with chilly temperatures will get Memorial Day weekend off to an inauspicious start, the sun and high near 70 forecast for Monday will no doubt be welcome.
Saturday the high will be in the low 50s with a 50 percent chance of more rain. The low overnight into Sunday will be a chilly 41, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
There’s some improvement in the forecast for Sunday as the NWS calls for partly sunny conditions and a high in the low 60s — albeit with a chance of showers and even a thunderstorm. The low overnight into Monday will again be in the low 40s.
Memorial Day is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 70 and calm winds — easily making it the nicest weather day in at least the past week.
Into next week, average temperatures will continue to be trending up to more seasonal levels, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Some rain could be possible throughout next week, however.
